The communications committee cordially invites you to get involved… We have a simple, fun and easy way for you to help the Church Community, without a large time commitment. Here is how it works:

The next time you plan to attend a church event, check out the Church’s digital camera and take it with you. During the event take pictures of your choice. When you are done, return the camera and then look for your work to be shared with the whole congregation via the Web site and on Church bulletin boards and publications like this one.

Excuse #1 – I don’t know anything about using a digital camera. - Using this camera is so simple it practically takes the pictures itself. You can’t possibly mess it up. There is no film to deal with, no focusing, you just turn it on, point and click. It has auto flash and you get to see the picture you just took immediately. Oops you took a picture of your thumb, no one will ever know, you simply delete it with a press of two buttons and you take the picture again. A quick 5-minute lesson will get you started. See Sue Shepherd between the 9 & 10:15 in the bookstore for your lesson.

Excuse #2 – I don’t know how to operate any camera much less a digital camera. – This is an excellent camera for a beginner. It’s so easy and you get such good results with minimal effort you will wonder why you ever afraid. A quick 6-minute lesson will get you started. See Sue Shepherd between the 9 & 10:15 in the bookstore for your lesson.

Excuse #3 – What if I forget how to use it after my lesson? – The camera box has a few easy to read pages of the instruction manual that will refresh your memory quickly.

Excuse #4 – What if I break it? – The camera has a protection plan. Just bring it back and we will get it fixed.

Excuse #5 – What if I am so involved in the activity I don’t have time to take pictures? – If you have the camera at the event it will be easy to find someone to draft into taking these pictures for you. Grab one of the teens they love to take pictures and they can usually operate anything with buttons intuitively.

Convinced…. I hope so as we could really use your help. We have an active church membership but so far we have not done a very good job recording our events in pictures. Help us get these pictures so we can share our fun times with each other and with potential new members. They say “ a picture is worth a 1000 words, maybe a picture you take could be the motivation for someone else to get involved in the church.

Camera Check out can be arranged by stopping in the bookstore, Sundays between the 8 and 10:30 service. If this is not a convenient time, call and leave a message for Sue Shepherd on her voice mail 488-9151, she will get back to you and arrange a time that you can get together. During the week you can check out the camera by contacting the Secretary in the church office at 488-7139.
