January & February 2006

January 15 after 10:30 Service (Sunday) HTCT meet for lunch and activity

January 21 Noon – 4:30 (Saturday) Jason Emerson Ordination in Omaha
Jason is the Diocesan Youth Minister that some of the teens know. I will take a van full of people to this service, leaving Lincoln about noon. We should be back by 4:30

January 21 6:30-9:00 (Saturday) Scrabble Tournament at Holy Trinity
This is a fundraiser for Christian Teens activities including the Mission Trip this summer. We will need to set up before 6:30. We need everyone that has Scrabble game to bring it-please check that all the alphabet tiles are included. We will also have a dessert bar that the teens will bring. Cost of this activity is $10. It is fun and well attended (and no overhead).

January 29 Morning 9:00-12:00 (Sunday)
Penny Wedige has arranged for Watkins Sales again this year. She will have order forms for the teens to do pre-sales again this year. This was an excellent fundraiser last year (over $500 earned). We don’t need to do much on Saturday except encourage people to look at the products.

February 14 8:00-9:30 (Tuesday) Ballot Boxes
Unloading ballot boxes after the special election is done by teens and parents. We earn money and help the community. I need everyone there-we will celebrate Valentine’s Day there.

February 26 after 10:30 service (Sunday)
Set up tables and chairs for the Pancake Supper and then HTCT meet for Lunch and activity.

February 28 4:30-7:00 Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
The teens are co hosting this event this year. This is an excellent opportunity to be visible and help our church community. We need teens to help with bussing tables, flipping pancakes, doing dishes and putting tables and chairs away after. We will also be helping with ticket sales before the event. You need stay the entire evening-I will have sign up sheets for you.

*I will be planning activities with the other Lincoln Episcopal teens-I will send the dates and activities when they are available.

*MISSION TRIP 2006 Dates: Leave Saturday, June 10 and return Saturday, June 17. We will be going with the Diocese this year to Cairo, IL. Included will be a stop to Kansas City Worlds of Fun on the return trip. Any teen that will be in grade 9-12 next fall (2006) may go. Cost will be about $300 per person, though we will be doing fundraising for the full amount. Please mark your calendars for these dates now.
